I’ve been learning how to meditate; at least I think something of the sort. Today I filled a room with butterflies. As a way of clearing my mind I took the people whom I love dearest and saw them appear as butterflies and flutter off towards the ceiling, one by one. My mother was the brightest, black and dark orange. Lana was this whispy light purple one, and you flew right off of your own arm and circled closely by my head, perching yourself on my ear from time to time whispering ‘I love you’: The same mantra I repeated to myself throughout. Next I thought of everyone who has ever been taken too soon and filled the room with white butterflies for them all. Then I thought of everyone whose heart feels broken and welcomed hundreds of red butterflies into the room as well. At the end of my practice, just before the door opened and set them all free, I offered them love and a prayer for contentment.

Tichy was an eccentric. He was held prisoner for almost a decade in Soviet labor camps just for that—being an eccentric, falsely accused of dissidence.

Upon his release in the early 70s, he wandered his small town in rags pursuing his voyeuristic obsession with the female form by photographing women unawares in the streets, shops and parks, through windows and fences, with cameras he fashioned out of tin cans, children’s eyeglass lenses and other junk he picked up while wandering.

last summer. seeing this for the first time; i love these boys. it’s been a year now and it’s time again to level up the infirmary. cutting down trees, making new garden beds, projector, washer and dryer, home brewed kombucha, new studio space and whothefuckknowswhatelse.yerp.
also, I’m remembering that time Lana hulked the rest of the ivy out of the front ‘garden’
