These boys stayed with us at the beginning of their cross country bike ride back in the spring. They are happily on the pacific coast now and mailed us treasures they found on the road the whole way across… Tejas! This makes me really happy.
I had a dream last night that I found a puppy on the streets in Manhattan. I was walking around with Nova and Jess and he just let me carry him around over my shoulder all over the city. And then when it was time to take him back to Brooklyn I was just going to walk because you can’t take dogs on the subway, but it turned out that the Brooklyn Bridge had turned into the world’s best roller coaster that took you back and forth from Manhattan to Brooklyn and it was the most fun thing ever and of course my new puppy loved roller coasters.
I saw the man who taught the print making class I took in college at a coffee shop this morning and I wanted to walk over and thank him for changing art for me. Of everything I learned in school I use what he taught me more than anything else. He was the only art teacher I ever had that always understood what I made and he always thanked me for ‘actually caring’ about them. It was some really menial intro level art class though and I’m sure he’s taught it a thousand times now and I don’t know I just felt stupid, but now I wish I had told him because I feel like moments like that are what make teaching worth it. Oh, well.
